Weekly Photo Challenge – The Hue of You

Lemon Thyme at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix

This week’s photo challenge turned out to be very difficult for me. From the challenge post:

For this challenge, we want to keep it simple: share a photograph with a prominent color (or assortment of colors) that reveals more about you. It could be a symbolic, meaningful shade; a color that expresses how you currently feel; or a combination of colors that excites you and tells a visual story.

I used to think that blue is my favorite color. Just check my closet for my collection of shirts for confirmation of that notion. I have since learned that in nature, though, when I see warm colors standing out against cooler surroundings, I really appreciate the color contrast. Looking through my catalog of landscape and floral photographs, I find the most appealing to me contain a complement of warm and cool colors.

I submit for your entertainment, a collection of images that best describe “The hue of me.”

  1. John – your mystery flower looks like a member of the “bird of paradise” family. Several varieties in Mexico. Also like your posting on the Boston area – one of my favorites as well.
