Weekly Photo Challenge – Ephemeral

Stone Island-9-0

This week, Krista asks us to focus our collective lenses on that which is ephemeral. The dictionary tells us that ephemeral is that which is transitory, fleeting. You can read Krista’s challenge post here.

For a landscape photographer, the one major factor that is ever changing is the lighting. Many a photographer has spent hours in their career simply waiting for that perfect moment when the light shone upon his or her subject at the split second when the image relays the photographer’s creative vision for that specific subject.

Sometimes, the moment arrives, and an image that had never occurred to the photographer reveals itself. Nonetheless, it is that moment in time that was frozen at the snap of the shutter. I submit for your ephemeral evaluation, a gallery of images that moments before and moments later, probably looked significantly different.

    • Thanks. Just outside of Bryce Canyon is the Dixie National Forest. An early snow surprised us on our way to visit the canyon.mhow lucky we were to see fresh snow in the forest, and then cap it off with a fabulous sunrise at Bryce.
