52-Week Photo Challenge – High or Low Key

This week, the 52-week photo challenge asks us to share our take on high key or low key images. Often this category gives us an excuse to share under- or over-exposed images. The image above was captured in mid-day at Yelapa, Mexico. In post-processing, I reduced the exposure setting and converted it to black-and-white. That low key conversion gave the impression that it was captured at night by moonlight.  Continue reading

OK, so technically, it’s a sunburst… but science tells me the sun is a star, so there. It’s a starburst. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. The loose definition is a pattern of lines radiating from a central point of light. This week, you will find a small gallery of images that exhibit a starburst effect.
